I was playing fairly new sandbox game although it was my second time trying it. There were survival-crafting elements resembling Valheim however there was also a class system. This time I decided to actually read all of the descriptions and tooltips as I played and picked an ocean-oriented class.

I started amid a hill of golden wheat but quickly made my way towards the coast. On my way over I decided to scroll through the long list of achievements and saw that I was still missing a lot of basic ones. One of the perks of my character is that I would automatically lay roots at my feet whenever walking over wet ground. These roots would in turn provide bonuses like movement speed and increased armour when standing on them. Additionally, they also served as a form of map control as they detected whenever enemies were close.

I ran up and down the shoreline, drawing thick lines of roots all along the beach. I didn’t really have a goal in mind beyond constantly propagating the passive effect. Some of the other players seemed confused by my actions and I had to explain to them how it worked because it was such a niche (and usually useless) mechanic. After a few laps on the beach I noticed I had been streaming to my YouTube channel the whole time.
