I was watching a motorcycle event with my family that was part stunt show and part concert. I was clinging onto my dad until I accidentally grabbed his neck and he told me to cut it out. My brother and his wife were with us but their faces looked strangely different from normal. “Did we get too high last night?” they asked.

We walked around the block together before my brother crouched down to drink from a water fountain. My dad asked if it tasted good, while noting that his behavior made him look homeless.

We still had half a day together and we considered walking through the hospital to get to our next destination quicker. I thought about getting a Covid shot.

I suddenly realized that my wallet was missing from my pocket. I turned around and saw that my wallet and ID were laying on the sidewalk of the street we had just crossed. I quickly ran over to pick it up. My mom asked me if I’d have noticed anything if we weren’t together.
