I was walking past my middle school campus when I spotted my highschool history teacher. I took off my glasses to introduce myself but he didn’t seem to recognize me. Unfortunately I had forgotten his name as well which made the entire interaction rather awkward. I quickly excused myself and walked through the school gates.

There was large population of cats hanging around the front courtyard which naturally also attracted many other people to come play with them. It was getting late and we had to herd a number of heron-like birds into cages before it got too dark. Luckily for us, all of the local wildlife was in the same vicinity because someone was feeding them. I started to feel stressed out by the crowd of people and asked my dad if we could leave yet. “Just one more day”, he said. “That’s what you said yesterday”, I told him.

The kids nearby started drawing the same figures on the floor with chalk. I felt my memories of the day slowly slipping away from me until the only thing left was a “demo disc”. I had a feeling that I had read about this phenomenon in a psychology textbook. I started to doubt that this was my first day here.

We were driving through a remote area in the middle of the night. I was getting hungry and suggested that we stop at the intersection just up ahead. On the side of the road was a camper van that doubled as a BnB. We were welcomed in and given a tiny closet sized room to stay in. There was an eating area in the main cabin where they served chicken and pork over rice.
