It was the first day we had to return to the office in the while and I had already overslept. For some reason I wasn’t even in my own home. I quickly sent a Skype message to my manager telling them I was going to be late. I got on my bike and started riding home. It was already dark out and my bike had the right of way at all of the intersections. I thought about what I was going to have for dinner and how I was going to miss at least half a day of work at this rate.

I was riding on a downhill street when I hopped off my bike to run down the sidewalk. It was getting warm so I took off my puffy jacket and looked back at my bike up the hill. I ran towards my bike just as a little kid was attempting to ride away with it. I had caught up to the child but the kid wouldn’t let go of my bike. Another bystander had now latched onto the bike as I dragged the group down to where I had dropped my jacket. As a last result I pulled out a gun at pointed it at the child. “Is this what you really wanted?” I asked. “Nothing has to happen.”
