I was sitting at a diner with my family for breakfast. Everyone else had gotten their meals of meat and berry pies but my plate was empty because I couldn’t make up my mind on what to order. My dad asked my brother if he could show him his teeth. My brother showed off his set of dentures while his wife showed us her golden implants.

There weren’t any free desks left in the classroom so I sat on a cushion at the front of the room. I set my suitcase under the piano and started interacting with the room like a city builder. I plopped down some single tile solar panels near the beach on the east side of the map. There were mini Christmas trees set on top of the desks but some of them weren’t decorated so I tried adding decorations manually.

Class was over and everyone was cleaning up. Some of my belongings were put away while I wasn’t looking and it took me a moment to realize where they had gone. The teacher made a comment on how “accommodating” I was. They speculated that I must be living an ideal life, one with no complaints or demands.

My mom spotted a cockroach running under a board game box.
