I was wandering around an anime con when I spotted some friends around a mahjong table. The table was pushed against a central staircase so only 3 sides of the table were open. I stood behind one of the seats when someone asked me how I was doing in college. I felt awkward telling them that I had graduated a while ago and had to explain that I hadn’t really been working since then either.

I was playing a game of Starcraft on a custom map. It was a Protoss vs Protoss matchup except it was an asymmetric map where we started with prebuilt units and bases. I felt stupid when I caught myself building something that I already had somewhere just a screen away. There was a class of units that had a mechanic where two of them could merge into another one (much like the templars and archons, except they were mechanical flying units).
