I watched a man hang onto the windshield of a SUV as it circled and swerved around in the grass. Eventually the car got caught up in some vines and the person on top was thrown off into the bushes. He quickly bounced back onto his feet and assured us he wasn’t hurt, just itchy due to landing on some thorny plants. “But the good kind of itchy”, he said as the three of us walked away from the car.

I noticed there was some movement coming from the trees and stopped for a moment to look more closely. A black bear cub emerged from the bushes, followed by its mother. The pair of them were now charging at us all full speed as we started running. We ran in circles on the field but the bears wouldn’t give up. We went through an opening in the trees and found ourselves in front of a brick and glass building. I ran along the full height windows until I found the door.

Even though we were now inside, the bears were still chasing us as they apparently knew how to open the doors in the area. I ran down the hall, passing through multiple sets of double doors with no intention of slowing down. Eventually we happened upon a classroom that was in session and slipped through the half-open sliding door.
