I walked into the library wanting to use their computers but the place turned out being much more crowded than expected. None of the working computers in the “pod” were unoccupied. I sat down at a nonfunctional machine and pulled out my laptop in resignation. “Why am I even here if I was just going to use my own computer?” I thought to myself.

I didn’t really remember how to use my own laptop. Nothing really seemed to work how I expected it after using another machine for work for so long. I “loaded” (logged in to) the first user on the list. Even the desktop picture seemed like it came from a long forgotten era of my life. I felt kind of embarrassed asking one of the librarians for help. It didn’t help that some smut I had saved many years ago was easily accessible from the desktop.
