I had landed in Canada at a rather small airport. My parents and I were waiting around the boarding gate as we weren’t sure if immigration was working at this hour. We considered waiting until next morning even though the sun hadn’t even set yet.

When I woke up I was already in the house we were renting. I asked my dad what happened at the airport and he told me that he took care of it while I was out. I received a push notification from my bank informing me that my rent for the month had already gone through.

We left the house to find that the bus stop really was right outside the door as we were told. However we kept walking until we reached the SkyTrain by foot which, again, happened to be much closer than expected.
