We were walking down a long set of wooden stairs in the mountains until we got to a parking lot and rest area. My coworker had to leave for work, while a friend was asking me questions about what we did. It was now my responsibility to show her around.
It was right about lunch time and we had a multi-level cafeteria not far from the cabins. I walked up to the third floor and there was a butcher displaying a selection of meats on the counter. I picked out a beef shank and waited until someone behind the display noticed me. “Do you want that on the grill?” she asked.
“Uh… yes?” I answered hesitantly. She asked me to season it myself but there was only one sauce and and some salt nearby. All of the other dispensers around the counter were for dessert but I took so long looking around anyways that she was getting impatient. I had accidentally poured some white chocolate chips and other inappropriate toppings onto the shank before starting over again. I finally handed over the salt-seasoned meat.
There was a red piece of paper on the counter that had quotes written on it in marker: “Enhancements are more variable than you” “DON’T DIE. FIGHT”
I started thinking of cutscenes from Metal Gear Solid involving sword fights underwater and fighting hordes of machines. 1
