We were walking through the garden when I went down some steps to look into the pond. The walkways were made out of red bricks and the vegetation was a dark green. I spotted an orange frog clinging onto the wall and walked towards it for a closer look. In a split second, the frog leaped onto my jeans and off again, leaving a stain of frog eggs (which looked more like fish eggs) on my pants.

I quickly rushed to the faucet to rinse off the roe, while telling my friend that the frog was carrying eggs all over its body (which made it look orange). “Oh yeah, he has eggs in his backpack”, she responded.

We walked to the kitchen together to see a larger green frog inside, walking on its hind legs. It was looking through the glass doors of the fridge, before it opened the door to reach for an unopened bag of shrimp chips. She quickly walked over and closed the door, and handed an already opened bag on the counter to the frog. The frog happily munched on some shrimp chips.

“He seems more sentient than any animal we’ve seen so far”, I commented as we watched the frog walk out of the kitchen. A few moments later, the frog carried in a potty chair before placing it down in front of me and sitting in it. It smiled at me contentedly. I took out my phone to take a picture to send to a friend when my dad walked in asking how it was going with “fixing the Yamaha [piano]”.
