February 4, 2019
I had already missed the first two weeks of school due to being sick. For my first week back, I didn’t go to all of my classes at once. Discouraged by the perceived amount of work that I had to catch up on, I decided to ease myself into my schedule as the week went on. In my downtime, I wandered around the halls looking at the flyers posted on various bulletin boards.
Today I was going to my second year Japanese class. I was already late due to reading a poster in the hallway describing the use and meanings associated with the word “moufth” in the context of online furry communities. I walked into the classroom and to my surprise, the professor was still reviewing first year content. She said that the class had been waiting for me to return before starting the new material. I felt ashamed that I had put off coming to class until now. I felt unable to focus for the rest of the period.
