I was scrolling through Netflix on the couch, looking for something to watch. I eventually settled on an anime titled “The First Maxim of China”.

A couple of hours had passed and I couldn’t get into it. I recalled reading online that it didn’t really “get good” until the 32nd out of 48 episodes. I wasn’t sure if I was going to have the patience to watch it all the way through. Somewhere around the 16th episode, the show suddenly became live action.

After the our school trip was over, we were dropped off at the far side of campus and had to race to the cafeteria. The first 10 students to get there were going to receive a prize. I ran ahead with a decent lead until one of the roads was blocked by a collapsed building and a chain-link fence. After half-a-minute of looking around the blockage, the people behind me started to take another path up and around through the parking complex. I turned around to follow their lead.

When I finally arrived at the main building, I decided to go through the lobby and restrooms to get to the finish line. It turned out accessing the cafeteria from the other exit was faster and I missed the 10th place.
