I was standing in line for ravioli in the cafeteria. A friend offered to buy me lunch as we stood together in line.

Class was over before I had gotten a chance to even say a word. I took my time packing my things and was the last one to leave the classroom. I found myself on the second floor of my elementary campus. Each door I walked past down the hallway had a phone bolted onto the door frame.

I walked down to the playground and saw some old friends. We talked about later going to the cafeteria for lunch. I saw a friend I hadn’t talked to in a long time so I told the rest that the could go without me. We didn’t really end up talking.

When I finally walked into the cafeteria, all of the tables were already empty aside from one with some leftover plates of fruit. It was already 11PM. I saw a different set of friends sitting at a table. They were talking about going out for drinks when I approached them. I ended up turning down their invitation.

As I got into the car I thought about running some evolution simulations back at home.
