For some reason she sat at the teacher’s desk at the front of the room in every class we shared. I could feel her eyes judging me until I started to uncontrollably stumble whenever I was walking between the desks. I decided to excuse myself from class just this once.

I walked out of the classroom and found myself on my elementary school campus. As I walked down the hall and down the stairs I saw that not only every classroom was packed, but that everyone was in a language class at the same time.

I got off of the subway and sat down at a restaurant shortly before closing time. Apparently they closed early because it wasn’t as busy during the summers. I picked up the menu and saw that it was written in both Chinese and English. A stranger walked up to me and offered some cash along with suggestions on what to order. I saw an old friend with her sister sitting at the table behind the stranger. I ordered my food before quickly excusing myself to the restroom.

I must have spent a long time in the restroom because by the time I came out, the tables were already empty. The stranger from earlier walked over to me while holding the plate that I ordered and asked if I was really in the toilet or if I went somewhere else to fool around. I saw my friend walk out the restaurant in the background.
