I had received a large box addressed to me and inside it I found a stack of sketchbooks full of drawings. The cover of each sketchbook was titled with a year. The oldest one went all the way back to 2003. The thing is, these sketchbooks weren’t mine but were the works of a friend I hadn’t talked to in years.

I later received a snapchat from her, asking if I liked my present. It was her “biggest surprise” for me. Apparently she was planning to reconnect with a bunch of old friends.

Inside of the box, I also found a lone Post-it note with nonsense scirbbled on the sticky side. I recalled when I would tirelessly read out everything as it was being written on the note. I could only make out a few lines of “chocolate” with various stages of misspelling. She also sent a snapchat of her tumblr URL, saying that it was “growing old” and wanted me to check it out.

I walked into a building that had been declared as a Yellow Zone due to the threat of zombies. I quickly got uncomfortable and decided to step out, thinking that I’ll go in another day. Just as I turned around however, I saw someone familiar walk towards the building. I felt more comfortable going in with someone else so I turned around again and followed them.

The inside of the building seemed to be eerily quiet and there was no real sign of activity. We eventually reached a dining area and saw the residents of the floor. I asked them if they had cleaned up the place and they said that the zombies were taken care of the moment they heard the warning.

I realized that I was quite hungry now and sat down to order something to eat. I overheard someone on the other table talking about how they pulled an all-nighter before attending a nine hour math class.
