My brother picked me up in his Mini Cooper after I got back from a trip abroad. We made a slight detour at a public bath where I was able to pick up my freshly done laundry. “Where are we?” I asked. “Home” is what he said as we drove away.
When I got back home, all I was able to unpack from my suitcase was more suitcases.

Someone was going on another rant about why Chinese was an “inefficient language”. I couldn’t be bothered to respond. Their argument was that children learning English were able to move onto learning other things at an early age while children raised on Chinese had to memorize characters and deal with tones.
