I was visiting an old friend in college and he was showing me around campus. It was getting dark out when we entered the dorm. The first floor was unusually spacious and the lighting was sparse. I asked him how many people lived in the building. “600″, he said. “What? No way.” I couldn’t imagine that the dorm housed anywhere close to that number. I walked around the perimeter of the first floor and peered through some open doorways. The unoccupied rooms were about as big as you would expect for a regular dorm room.

We were in a van for a family trip when another one of the cars with us passed by us on the road with all of their doors and the trunk open. When we asked them about it at the stop light, they said it was for improved circulation.
