Since the table was getting a little crowded, the host requested that we start distributing ourselves a little more evenly among the other seats. When I stood up however, I saw that all of the other tables were just as filled, if not not more full, than the one I was just sitting at. I awkwardly sat back down.

I had received an e-mail from my thesis advisor asking me what the hell I was doing. I had not sent him a thesis draft yet.
