We were visiting my cousin’s house in the mountains. Partway through our visit, I was informed that my uncle was looking to take me away. I ran up and down the narrow road, looking for a place to hide. I didn’t know why he wanted to see me.

I was fiddling on the keyboard while listening to a teacher administer a language quiz. The theme of the set of vocabulary words was nature, or more specifically the ecosystem, with a focus on birds, frogs, and fish. Clues to the words were located on a website that looked like it was from the early 2000s.
I looked at the photograph in front of me that was supposed to serve as a hint. I was told that the word in Chinese meant “high ground/guard”. “But this picture looks like a teenager”, I objected. Their reasoned that it worked because the biblical god had the moral high ground which left me only more confused. “Who is good?” someone asked. I raised my foot.
The next question was about something from Spanish cuisine until an actual Spanish teacher walked in. Our new question asked how to take care of white children.
“How do we get to the main page?” someone asked. “Oh that’s easy”, I said. “You just need to –” everyone in the room shushed me. I had forgotten that we weren’t supposed to ask or answer questions about navigating the website.
