I was visiting my brother’s family and they had a sepia piano mat in the middle of their living room. I started to improvise on the mat and keys corresponded perfectly to how things sounded in my head. I ended up playing something resembling classical music.

I thought I would try my hand at playing Itsumo no Fuukei, which I had been practicing for a while now. However, no matter how many times I restarted, the beginning just wouldn’t sound right. I stepped over to a real piano by the wall and encountered the same problem: it just sounded off. The keys to my left started to stretch and shrink as my fingers clumsily fumbled over the them.
