Around a hundred of us were locked in this facility with no way out until we had finished our task. We were here to research the virus that was devastating the world outside. Due to our limited contact with the outside, we were informed during our meeting in the underground parking lot that we had to start rationing our food.

We were walking on the station platform and I was teaching someone how the tones in Mandarin sounded. A train with the Greek flag painted all over it ran by and we all pointed it out to him. He was from Greece, after all. A few seconds later, a train with the American flag rushed after it.

The man was doing a stand up skit in Mandarin and requested a box cutter from the audience. Someone with a red pen walked up to him and offered it. The knife was attached to the so-called “history pen” with a cork. Inside of the pen was a letter to the performer on the stage - it asked how much a trip to Lapland would cost.

I peeked into my backpack and spotted a half-eaten burger in one of the pockets. I grabbed a tissue from the restaurant table and wrapped the burger with it. After excusing myself from the table, I walked into the bathroom to inspect he burger more closely. I thought about eating the burger right there until I saw that bugs were crawling over the buns.
