We had been stuck in the shopping arcade with no way to get out or contact anyone for hours until a bus stopped in front of us. When we got on, the driver asked us if we were human. He explained that he was blind but for some reason was able to see us.

I was watching someone’s Snapchat story of a flight over Korea with commentary that war had broken out.

“Let’s go play somewhere else”, she said, standing in front of me. She grabbed my land and led me out of the amphitheater where a movie was currently playing on the projector. While we walked, she asked me where I was from, and so I gave her a very rehearsed yet rarely used rundown of where I had lived throughout my life.

When we walked into the shopping mall, I excused myself to the restroom to talk myself out of running away.
