We were told that we were going to be given a survey about the current Canadian presidential candidates. A group of strangers pulled me to the side and said that three of them would be sure to cause a “civil war”.*

What was actually handed to us was a blue sheet claiming to be a presidential ballot for the state of Wisconsin. As someone who wasn’t an American citizen, I asked the person giving out the papers what even gave us the ability to vote.

After looking at the form carefully, I realized that it was actually a multi-media exam on and causes and effects of child abuse and trauma. They told us that when we were done, we would be able to “sit at a wooden table and answer 8 questions about childhood abuse”.

– *I know next to nothing about Canadian politics so… ???they don’t even have ‘presidents’…
