As we stood at the checkout counter, we were unable to figure out who was paying for what through a long series of misunderstandings. I thought I had heard that he would be paying for everything, but ended up giving the cashier less than half of the fare. I asked him who was paying and he said that we both were, despite the fact that he was paying much less than his fair share.

The couple that I was babysitting for had come back so I walked down to greet them. A cartoon was playing on the television set that I had forgotten to turn off. The child I was looking after was holding a large blue picture book titled: “We Don’t Want It”.

My two cousins and I walked down the street as the sun was setting. “I heard from your dad that you liked to shower and change clothes every time before going to bed” one asked.

“Yes”, I confirmed.

“Why is that?”

“I like to feel clean when I’m sleeping” I explained.

“Isn’t it inconvenient when you run out of tampons on a typhoon day?” she asked. I nodded hesitantly, not unsure where the question was going before she apologized for forgetting that didn’t use them.

We seated ourselves at a restaurant when the subject of prom came up. It was going for some kind of 20′s theme and was advertised as being on “19/05″. We agreed how that was kind of confusing before they started taking photos together. I felt uncomfortable joining them.
