We were watching the trailer of an upcoming magical girl anime. There were mentions of “blood bonds” between the protagonists of the story, one of which was shown to die in the trailer.

The storm had just cleared up and we were walking by the waterside. Ahead I could see a video of people being blown away by the high speed winds that came through yesterday. I looked down to see large stingrays in the water. “How do they see down there? Don’t they bump their heads against the walkway?” someone asked. I suggested that the blindingly bright street lamps above us probably provided more than enough illumination for the underwater creatures.
