I walked into a dark corner of a McDonalds in order to sign in on a Mac that was sitting on top of one of the recycling areas. I just wanted to log on real quick to check something using someone else’s account. When I logged out, I looked around to find that there were quite a few people sleeping here with their heads down on the table.

I lined up at the checkout counter and there was a blackboard under the counter. “What does that say?” someone asked. It seemed to write “China vs. Esports vs. LoL vs. DOTA” in yellow chalk. Around it were various markings and drawings. Apparently you could order a sandwich based on the colors of areas on the board to your choosing. The only limitation was that you couldn’t request the whole board.

“Do you want your hundred dollar sandwich?” the cashier asked the person in front of me. I looked up at the menu to see that all of the prices were listed at 0 dollars. I wasn’t sure what to say when it came my turn because I didn’t choose anything beforehand. I stepped forwards and awkwardly ordered a “Caesar sandwich and Frappuccino” without actually knowing if they were on the menu. They cost me 15 and 9 dollars respectively.

“What?” I couldn’t hear what they had just asked but after repeating their question for the second time, I just said yes and hoped that it wasn’t important. I assumed that it had something to do with the drink.
