I had gotten a nose piercing at the hair salon because it was apparently at my father’s request. When I returned home with a large ring in my left nostril he said that I didn’t “get it” and handed me a smaller one that was from a relative. I held onto the ring while taking off my own as we continued to talk near the front door. Someone was coming over to our place soon and I realized that I wasn’t able to find my piercing anymore.

We were in a walled off, concrete patio and I was searching for swallow nests. I tracked them by looking at the ground for any signs of nest construction instead of looking up. When I had found such traces, I looked up to see a bird decorating the underside of its nest with a yellow flower. A small bee flew by.
I stepped back and felt a disgusting squish. Before looking down, I felt a bunch of hairs crawling up my left leg. I had apparently stepped on a “fly birther” which we somehow transported to a wooden bench table for further inspection. It looked like one large fly (the size of an open hand) and as you traced the appendages, the insect multiplied and reproduced asexually via splitting at the ends. The host disintegrated into progressively smaller and smaller flies until a mass of black squirming bugs were on the table.
