Our family was once again discussing what kinds of clothes I should wear. My parents were recommending that I wear “了解裤” (pants of understanding???) which were unisex briefs but were only sold in the women’s sections of stores.

My mother was wiping the table because tiny ants seemed to keep appearing all over the surface. I placed a sliced lemon in the cavity of a halved pumpkin and jumped up when I saw worms emerging from the edges of the fruit. In response, my father said that it was because the pumpkin had been sitting there for a month but I explained that the worms had come from the lemon, not the pumpkin.
