We got out of the taxi in the middle of downtown and there was a promotional display in the plaza for a reshowing of a 1981 romcom. My brother made a comment about something “saving the media” as I rolled along in my wheelchair. Our father called at us from across the street as we were getting tickets to watch the new Tom Cruise movie. “Didn’t you want to watch it?” my dad asked with a mask over his head while he dragged my wheelchair. When we got to the ticket counter we were going to get a disabled ticket until we realized that they could only be bought in pairs (?) which made us hesitate about our decision. “Are you sure? It’s at a reduced price” someone said.

It was 4:30 in the morning, before the first day of class. Someone was telling me how it was possible to cheat on the tests this year because they were being recycled from a textbook. I told him that I didn’t need it while I continued to check if I had everything packed in my bag. When I asked if he had cheated he admitted that he did.

It was the first day moving back into the dorms and as I entered the building I realized that I had left my luggage in the trunk of the rented car that I had already parked halfway across campus. I figured that I might as well get into the room first as I was already here. The lighting wasn’t great as the window faced another building and the floor was carpeted. I walked over to the window to see a dog jumping around on floor below. I didn’t realize that my window was open until the dog managed to jump into my room along with another dog. I frantically tried to shoo the dogs out of my room before I resorted to pushing them through the window. I closed the window and curtains and heard them whining outside.
