We were playing a board game the size of a small house and I wondered if all the pieces were still intact. Part of the game involved moving balls around with nets through holes and tunnels.

I was teaching an alien the word “no” translating it roughly to mean “stop doing that”. Someone was saying how you can tell if a sentence was negated by looking at whether or not it used “no one” or “anyone” for its subject. “It’s obvious” they said. “Apply the semantics, then the rules.”
