I dropped my books off at the gate before walking onto the lawn where everyone was watching something on the projector screen. An old friend called for my name and I looked around before joining him on the grass. After the event had ended, I stood under the tower while they threw down the books that didn’t get sold. “Hey, I never had this!” I shouted upwards while waving around a large book. Apparently I had forgotten to register what I was selling and the records had gotten mixed up. I went upstairs where I was given 27 dollars for the books that did get sold. I was cross referencing newspapers in an attempt to find out what books I had dropped off since my memory was failing me.
One of the listings claimed that I had a book about raising pigs, even though I was sure that it wasn’t actually the case. It was false positive from an algorithm that also took into account our past search histories to match up each book to their owners. I had a feeling that I had only left 6 books here.
