I was inside of a docked up spaceship and I was tasked with making a brief trip to the surface as a training procedure. More specifically, I had to “learn” how to buy things from the shop.
After successfully buying something, I was once again in the large auditorium with the yellow seats looking for a friend. When I walked down the aisle, I noticed that everyone was avoiding the front two rows. It was time to go back.
As I got into the ship, I tried my best to look inconspicuous as I locked the doors one by one. Someone on the ground had handled of one of the backdoors for me and I gave him a thumbs up from the other side. I had trouble however closing a door in the front as someone was trying to get it. I panicked and fumbled with the lock mechanism as I became increasingly aware of the chaotic situation outside.
A professor talked about a phenomenon he described as the “social” or “speed chuckle”. It is a behavior that is exhibited when someone knows themselves to be coming off as disingenuous. He gave examples of someone who would always rattle off with their achievements whenever given a chance, or the person who would always be drawing and stating morals from stories and experiences. He finally concluded with a spiel on how to get “better” and handed me a piece of paper with URL to videos of various people dealing with breakups.
