I was sitting in the back of a taxi and there was a screen on the seat next to me. A video lecture titled “Love is Strange” was playing on the screen. It was about the creation of the modern conception of love and was presented through an interspersing of narration and interviews. My brother was sitting in the front passenger seat and turned back to watch the screen as well. When we finally got off at our destination, the sun seemed to be setting on the city high-rises.The city itself seemed to simply be a string of buildings surrounding a highway as there were no intersections that ran perpendicular to the road we were on.
We entered the elevator of the apartment building and while we were on our way up, a small chick was biting at the tissue between my thumb and index finger. This was the point at which I had realized that my backpack wasn’t on me. “Did I have my bag before getting on the car?” I asked before quickly answering myself “I left my bag on the car”. I rushed back down and barely caught the taxi as it was leaving and managed to get my bag back in the end.

We were lounging on the sofa and started watching a horror movie. The opening scene was a shot of the sheer curtains of what seemed to be a hotel room blowing in the wind from an open window. The blueness of the scene seemed to indicate that it was early in the morning. The movie was really loud and we couldn’t find a way to turn it down.
At various points of the movie, small children donning clothes and make-up to look like zombies popped out of various places in the room. I got a little shocked the first time it happened and a young girl had jumped out from behind the curtain but quickly got used to it as I expected it to happen at every point in the movie. It wasn’t long before someone had asked “so how many kids do you think are hiding in this room?” I reasoned that there shouldn’t be much more and they were all going to come out soon as I didn’t think they paced their jump-scares very well. A young boy jumped out from underneath the sofa.
