The news was reporting about how the war was getting worse and that as of today we had entered “a new stage” in our current conflict. It showed footage of a soldier who had both of his limbs on the left mechanically reconstructed walking through a concrete doorway.

It was dark and there were two women discussing about what would be the right number of children they should have. There was a BB gun constantly sweeping left to right at the height of the kitchen counter, periodically shooting when the motion sensors detected activity in the area. This was to ensure that they movement was caused by actual people (don’t ask how). There was a pervasive atmosphere of distrust and anxiety.
