I sat in the seat on the right side of a van, ready for the ride home, when someone spontaneously started talking about about their friend’s “suspicious” behavior. Apparently this friend hadn’t showed up at the front gate to get breakfast together over the break. I tuned out the rest of their conversation as the van started to move.

My backpack was in the seat to the left of me and when the vehicle braked it fell forward and hit the floor. I thought about my laptop that was inside of the bag as I opened it up to make sure it wasn’t damaged.

When I got off for my stop, I passed by the entrance of a computer store. I thought about how it must be the case that I’m never the intended audience for commercials for none have ever appealed to me.
