My brother got a notification that his Taiwanese citizenship status had been revoked. They added a clause that as a result his wife was now also exempt from being a Taiwanese citizen. They noted the reason was that the international records for his location were inconsistent and they concluded that his identity must have been a fraud. He was supposedly supposed to be in Japan but they also had records that he was in Singapore. In actuality, we were in Taiwan.

I was biking with my dad through the city late at night to find a store that we had went to some time ago but could no longer remember the location of. We only knew that its storefront faced some kind of courtyard of an apartment complex. When we approached a familiar alley, we got off of our bike and started walking. After turning the corner, I asked my dad if we should get our bikes to lean against a wall in a less visible place so it wouldn’t get stolen.

We walked back to the bike rack while my dad said that we didn’t bring any locks so it didn’t matter anyways. I led my white fixed-gear bike into a slot right next to another bike that was locked in place. “Does this make it look less obvious?” I asked.
