I was still in bed but I already knew that I was late for the bus. My parents stopped trying to get me out of bed and handed the responsibility to my brother. I didn’t see the point but rushed to the bus stop anyways - under the presumption that I must’ve already been late by at least half an hour. When I got there, there were still familiar faces waiting. Some of the people were standing in the middle of the road. A number 2 bus stopped in front of us and as someone got on they said how most people don’t pay attention and get on the wrong bus right before complaining about the public transportation in the city.

I took the bus that came right afterwards which split paths at the very following intersection. We went straight ahead before we were on some road in the mountains. Even though I was already a sophomore, I was once again at some kind of orientation event. I left most of my belongings in the bus, including my phone, before walking on the side of the road.

There wasn’t much way to tell if I was headed the right direction as there was no one else in sight. I however kept walking until I got to a cafe with signs for host families displayed on its front patio. When I took out my phone* I found out that Snapchat had a new feature where you could “peek” at snaps sent from the local area.
