I was jumping from one part-time job to another. I finally landed in a security post where I had to chase down all the cars passing through the gate in order to ask the drivers to show their ID. I didn’t ask why we didn’t have to check the IDs for all of the passengers as well as I already had plenty to do on my hands.

A large group of students and parents came into the library and sat down in the lobby where I was planning to work. Apparently some kind of lecture was going to be held here as the lights turned blue and were dimmed. I walked out.
