I had been assigned to read some sections of a Chinese magazine for class. Someone next to me asked “Isn’t that not allowed?” To which I was very confused as I did not know what she was referring to. She later clarified that the magazine was banned in some areas due to the racist undertones of its articles.

I had woken up just as someone came into the room to set some blankets on top of me. Apparently I had unexpectedly fallen asleep face down. I pushed myself up and found that I was lying on three beds set side by side.
