I was on the bus and I overheard some people talking about how students weren’t enthusiastic enough about college and how it was a shame that they weren’t taking full advantage of the extracurricular activities that were around.
We were dropped off around a swimming pool and the class had split up into three sections. One was to go to a nearby exhibit for tombs, another to learn how to cut fish, and finally the third was to read and write a book. I was in the this latter section and I went to wash my hands before sitting at the table with three other people that faced the pool. They had already begun reading passages from a book in turns. One such passage was about how a governor had just approved zombie education in the school curriculum of their state.
The professor walked by and talked about his appreciation for leaves. He mentioned how he didn’t mind that his hair looked like dead leaves at times because he loved them so much.
Someone two seats over was asking everyone in the group what kind of books we read. The person immediately to the left answered for me that I go hiking and to springs in the mountain every weekend instead of reading. I denied this since it was obviously not the case to which she said that I wasn’t “doing college right”. I then asked in return how often she did such things and she answered that she usually goes once every other week.
