We were in the tea area of the hotel and my friend was rather restless. It was unlike him but he seemed really keen on going to a gym to work out. As I stared out across the harbor, he was running all over the place and apparently causing a lot of trouble for the other guests in the area.

“Okay, why not”, I said.

We moved over to two desktop computers to see if their gym was open. I’m not sure why we didn’t just go downstairs and check in person but it made sense at the time to refer to the hotel’s webpage instead. For some reason, every time I right-clicked a tab on the browser, it closed, instead of bringing up a context menu. A lady passed by behind me and said that it was very likely that the hotel’s website was also the homepage and that I simply needed to press Ctrl+H ((This isn’t the actual keyboard shortcut for your homepage, by the way)).

I was on the right website however it seemed to be logged in as an “Anne Huang” ((I don’t think I even know any Anne H’s)). I quickly logged out of the account since I never liked lingering on other people’s spaces. The woman came by again and told me not to move to any other page since the previous user might have been dealing with important processes. It was already too late but I opened another tab before continuing my search anyways.

The site was rather confusing to navigate, and I’m not sure if I ever found the timetable by the end. However there was one peculiar page that described a man that lived with giraffes his whole life. Apparently his body had gone through some major transformations, giving him a disfigured upper body and elongated neck. Further down the page, evidence was presented of how this man was an ancestor of dolphins.

It was no use. I got out of the chair. If navigating through an online interface was going to be this hard, I might as well just walk downstairs myself. By the lobby a rather old gentleman waved at me, thanking me for showing him the directions and commenting on how much I had changed since I first stayed at the hotel. I did not recognize this man at all but he seemed to be leaving.
