We were given a Japanese language exam outdoors. Some of the questions asked various details about Higurashi such as whether or not certain characters were sadists or masochists. One of the prompts asked us to recall a phone number that I couldn’t remember.

We were told that we were going to be given a survey about the current Canadian presidential candidates. A group of strangers pulled me to the side and said that three of them would be sure to cause a “civil war”.*

We were the last ones left on the bus and they kept asking me to pick something up from one of the seats on my way out but I couldn’t find it. They insisted that it was on one of the seats even after I had looked through every row. I held up a large bag of skittles and asked if it was what they meant but apparently whatever they were searching for was in a cloth bag. “I’ll check again”, I said.

My father and I walked into the rundown house in the middle of the night. We had to burn down some vines at the front door to get into the living room. I saw a dog whimpering in the kitchen so we decided to help it out while we were here. After we freed the dog, we started to walk upstairs which was when we noticed that the dog kept following us.

I found myself laying on the floor of the marketplace when I saw the Akashi figure. I stood up to see the crowds of people walking about under the umbrellas held open over the stalls. There were boxes of physical Hearthstone cards on the table to my left.

I was reading a poster stating a recently passed law. All citizens who have been soldiers, prisoners, janitors, or have gone missing for 30 consecutive years were to be sentenced to death. I thought about the idea of disappearing for a few years.

An old friend and I were walking home together with the intention of hooking up. However, we didn’t expect to bump into and start talking to another group of friends on the way back. There was an awkward silence as the five of us stood in the elevator. I told them that we would be leaving the lift together and also asked them not to tell anyone that my brother was bi, which was supposedly a criminal offense.

We were walking through a park when I saw a Hylian Crest carved into a tree. I heard a yelp from someone behind me and turned around to see that they had made a deep cut into their thigh with a knife they were still holding. “Why did no one warn me?” they asked.

I walked up to the front gate of the park with my bike where I was asked to show ID. I gave the person my student ID which got rejected. I then gave him my national ID, to which he asked if I wanted to use another one but let me through anyways. I thought that I had seen my brother while riding through the park but I didn’t stop.
