I was in a League of Legends game with voicechat enabled. Someone with a thick Australian accent got tilted and started blaming the team for our recent losses. The leader of the call was talking about banning someone from the call before we got a chat notification that someone was kicked out. It turned out that they clicked the wrong name and accidentally kicked someone who wasn’t even talking. We laughed off the mistake as we admitted that we were all tired and continued playing.

I had already missed the first two weeks of school due to being sick. For my first week back, I didn’t go to all of my classes at once. Discouraged by the perceived amount of work that I had to catch up on, I decided to ease myself into my schedule as the week went on. In my downtime, I wandered around the halls looking at the flyers posted on various bulletin boards.

I was paying some kind of RTS game based on the world of Overwatch. The objective was to eliminate all enemy structures from the map, which spanned across the upper left half. I managed to sneak though the defenses to a garden in the middle of the base. I then built a production building in the blindspot of their static defenses and began pumping out units.

I got up from my desk to check to the fridge. On the way out of my room, I passed by someone who was still asleep in my bed.

There was an article in the newspaper about the new construction project behind our apartment building. After months of delays, the company finally got permission to build higher than two floors. I looked out the window and thought about how our view was going to be completely blocked off in a matter of weeks. The building so far was made out of a green block on the bottom and a pink one on top for the second floor, rotated at a 45 degree angle.

Classes were starting in a few days and I still had homework to finish before my first day of class. I had just arrived at the first floor of my new dorm for the year. The first floor resembled the lobby of some fancy hotel more than a dormitory with its white marble pillars and stairs. I struggled to find an easy way upstairs with my large suitcase. Someone was constructing a hang glider with black and yellow fabric in the corner of the room. I asked someone where the elevator was but they simply told me I might as well get in shape by carrying my luggage up the stairs.

It was morning and a large cardboard box had been delivered to our apartment. The box was flat and as large as our bookshelf. It was also surprisingly light as I helped prop up the box so it was leaning against the balcony window. My dad peeled open the flat side of the box to reveal a variety of children’s’ toys inside. My parents commented that it was a shame that my brother’s family had already flown back to the States.

It was a new semester and I was sitting in a van for a ride to school. It was raining outside and one of the stops was near the shore. A classmate stepped into the van. We had already exchanged greetings and been talking for a couple of minutes when I realized I had mistook her for another classmate. I apologized when I made the realization and continued our conversation about racing games. We had a disagreement over the importance of high-quality graphics in the racing genre.

We were continuing our ongoing project in the science lab from last week. I was still annoyed at my lab partner for having done none of the work when we last met. Our task this week involved making thin sheets of plastic clay on a tray. This was done by setting a large block of clay on some baking paper and slowly kneading it outwards until in was thin enough. We were running out of time and we still needed to bake the sheets in the oven.

All of the classes took place in one building and each class occupied a different floor. I ran up and down the building in search for my next class but I didn’t have any luck finding the right floor. One of the floors was the library and a class was currently in session. The instructor had a microphone and the lecture was being broadcasted throughout the entire library. It was a mix of a linguistics and literature class. They were assigning the class to close read something before their next meeting. They gave a broad definition for what qualified and accepted watching a movie or a series on Netflix. They explicitly excluded memes however, saying that the material had to be in “full format”. I slightly regretted the fact that I had not come earlier to hear the first half of the lecture as I sat on the stairs looking down.
