I walked around the perimeter of the house until I found the garage door that I had a remote for. I passed by a coworker who had just finished subtitling one of our videos on Facebook for a SE Asian audience. My boss asked me if I’d like to move closer to work despite already living only 15 minutes away. People were asking me if I had time to shoot some photos for them this Saturday. I had troubling turning down the requests until someone rejected them for me, saying that I was already too busy with my current workload.

I walked into my bedroom upstairs. It was rather large and dark inside, although I could see it was still midday from the sunlight shining between the gaps of the drawn curtains. The floor was carpeted. There was water spraying in from the windows while it also “rained” from the ceiling. I walked to the far end of the room and sat down at my desk with two computers. One of them had a CRT monitor.

We were touring an old temple and I was backtracking a lot because I wanted to make sure I visited every part of the multi-leveled structure. We eventually converged at a chamber behind the stairway which, at first glance, I thought was going to be a tomb-like area. Instead we were greeted by giant wooden contraptions which seemed to be perpetual motion machines that shot steel marbles at large metal blocks.

I was sharing a ride from the airport with someone who had just come back from Japan. I asked her what she did for work and she said she was doing Japanese to English translation.

It was the middle of the night and I could feel my bed rocking back and forth. I tried to sleep through it but I started hearing sirens blaring from the streets below. Not long after the fire alarm in my house started ringing as well. There was a weird wavy distortion on all of the alerts. I sat up and looked out at the night view of the city. The earthquake wasn’t stopping. I thought about my parents who were far away on another continent.

I hadn’t packed up in advance so I was still getting my things together on the morning of our departure. I tried to stuff a door along with the coats that were still hanging on the back into my bag without much success. The day was cloudy yet very bright as the light shone through the windows. The house kind of resembled my uncle’s place from childhood.

A friend was humming Seasons of Love and someone asked what the song was. “Don’t you remember?” he replied as he pulled up Google Images on his phone. There were photos us from our elementary school days floating on the web. Everyone was wearing black shirts while hanging from the outer edge of an apartment building. We tapped on one of the thumbnails which brought us to a Reddit post with a video of one of our friends beatboxing in the park.

I was playing Dwarf Fortress and I had split my map into two settlements with the use of burrows. I had decided that the new fortress would be above ground as I started to designate trees to be cut and mushrooms to be planted under a wooden structure.

I was showing of a demo of a generative music AI to some friends in the auditorium. We gave it an input and in return it rendered the same piece but at different skill levels. After playing around with it for a bit, we agreed to meet again next week to dance.

I opened the window and stuck my head out as we flew over a plane crash in a swimming pool. The water was green and teeming with large lizards swimming among the wreckage. A couple of them were rolling around a severed head in the water. I got my phone out to take a picture when a man crawled in through the window to snatch a keyring from my pocket. I pinned him against the frame of the window in an attempt to make him let go of my keys. However moments later even more people starting slipping into the plane through the gaps.
