We had to take a multiple-hour long vocabulary test for a qualification at work.

The query was “South” and the result was a textbook for learning Chinese characters. I was about to rate it as off topic when a coworker looked over at my screen and said that it was relevant because a hiker who recently went missing at South Green Lake taught Chinese. I asked if he would accept an English dictionary as a result if the hiker had been a journalist. He confirmed that he would. “That’s ridiculous,” I said.

It was late at night and the four of us stopped at a roadside workshop of sorts. Despite all of the lights being on, the owner seemed to be away. We bought some things from the store by leaving money on the counter and also signed our names inside of a visitor book. We were just about to leave when my mom saw several range hoods on display in the garden. We decided to buy one at a “cheap” price of 642 dollars.

I was walking with my brother by the beach late at night. We had been hired to star in a film shoot that was supposedly illegal. We wondered aloud what it was going to be like.

A friend was asking if I had any plans for halloween even though it was more than half a year away. They invited me to a party at their place and I accepted it despite not knowing if I’d even still be in the city by then.

I was staying over at someone’s place and they had brought out a variant of Go. It was already midnight and I was getting sleepy. I told them that I’d love to play if only I didn’t need to go to work the following day and needed to sleep. It was then that I remembered it was a Friday and said that I was down if they were still up after a quick nap.

I was studying late into the night at the library when I saw my friend being escorted up the escalators. I got up and followed them, leaving my laptop at my seat as I didn’t expect to be gone for long. The escalator led to a narrow hallway on the third or fourth floor and I’d lost track of my friend.

I was walking up the stairs of the house where the enemies were supposedly hiding. I peeked around the corner of a doorway by the stairs before throwing a small explosive into the room. The charge opened some kind of mini black hole that disintegrated a chunk of the room and its contents. I walked up to a microwave built into the wall of the hallway and messed with its settings. This was supposed to inflict morale damage to whoever survived.

I was looking for an SFM video to put on the big screen when I saw a familiar thumbnail on YouTube. I remembered the video only having been around 3 minutes long but the timestamp reported the runtime to be around 340 minutes. It started off as a regular TF2 machinima however the screen went black a few minutes in. It then seemed to loop the same video multiple times but it wasn’t until the 3rd iteration or so that I noticed small changes were creeping in.

I left the kitchen where my dad was cooking and went upstairs to the living room. My brother and his wife were discussing what to eat. She told him that he should’ve bought the chicken wraps earlier if he knew he was going to want them now. They said something about food mixers being expensive.
