I’m not sure where to start but there were three of us in the car and my uncle was driving. The problem was that he was sitting in the back seat- and drunk. I took over the wheel even though I didn’t know how to drive but managed to safely get off of the highway anyway.

I was held back along with 5 or so other people in some stranger’s house against our will. It was a rather old house, one that was very susceptible to termite damage. And moldy. In fact it was very damp. Moss was growing on the bed frames and for some reason we were tasked with creating miniature ecosystems in our rooms. Each person was responsible over maintaining their own, although all of them resembled swampy environments. We would sometimes give each other excess plants or insects to enrich each others’ habitats. I remember how earlier I was fishing for mudskippers with my dad at a small pond of a garden where a wedding was taking place.

I was standing by a swimming pool with my dad and we were discussing my choices concerning my academic career. He seemed quite keen on getting me to choose robotics or synthetic biology over what I had already planned. I agreed, as I also had an interest in those fields. He added on that perhaps one day in the future, I would be able to solve his joint problems.

I was on the school bus and it felt like we weren’t going to see each other for a while. Our school newspaper had a special edition for its final print of the year. The girl sitting next to me wanted to read it so I gave her my copy. When she left the bus, her belongings were still left behind.

It seems like a serial killer was on the loose in Taipei. Apparently this one was especially notorious for gutting his victims and leaving their remains all over the streets. I was walking down one such street with my parents at night and caught a glimpse of a dead man with his intestines spilling out over a pile of rubble.

“Use the Internet. But use it differently.” The principal was speaking to me privately in the gym. He went on to talk about how people are relying on the Internet too much for instant gratification and are missing the real potential of such a great resource. “Don’t kill yourself on it like everyone else is doing,” he added. “And don’t give its owners a hard time,” a nearby janitor chimed in.

We were in the tea area of the hotel and my friend was rather restless. It was unlike him but he seemed really keen on going to a gym to work out. As I stared out across the harbor, he was running all over the place and apparently causing a lot of trouble for the other guests in the area.

It was the last day of psychology class. 3:05. Another 30 minutes and we’ll be free. The room was dark and illuminated only by the glow of everyone’s laptop screens. It was pouring outside as I sat next to the window. I got out of my chair, thinking to myself that I should probably go to the bathroom. I nearly tripped on a bundle of power cords on my way out.
