My friend and I were in a restaurant and we asked someone if they had any recommendations for nearby places to check out. We were directed to a small help desk with laminated guides of attractions in the area. My friend was scribbling in their day planner with a marker.

It had been a few weeks since a natural disaster had ravaged the city and we were camped on one of the higher floors of the apartment building. The streets outside were still full of rubble covered in a thick coating of mud. I went into my room and told everyone I was ready for things to end, now that I had found a suitable resting spot. I stepped into the coffin in the middle of the room and laid down before closing the cover over myself.

An old friend was visiting town and I was on my way to meet up with them as I got onto the train. I had in fact spotted them on the street earlier in the day but lost track of them before I got the chance to say hi. When we met up at a coffee shop it felt like we both had an endless amount of questions to ask each other. We talked about our long term plans and I had to admit that I still didn’t really have any. They relayed a story about eating tree bark in the middle of a park. I told them how I had finally gotten around to reading The Stranger.

I was scanning through the bookshelves in the library in search for thin blue paperback by an author that went by Abrams. “Is it even good?” Someone asked. I told them it was one of those self-help books that were “kind of obvious in hindsight. Something like Dale Carnegie.” An announcement rang out that the library was going to close for the night in 5 minutes. I had located a copy of the book I was looking for but decided to put it back on the shelf. As I left the library the person at the front desk asked if I was borrowing anything. I told them that they didn’t have the edition I was looking for.

I was leaving the house for work when suddenly my niece ran out the door and tried to jump over the fence, only to land straight on her face. She looked up at me with her bloodied nose and started crying as I rushed over to pick her up.

We had gathered together in a restaurant and were chatting about some kind of investigation that we were involved in. Someone leaned towards me and said they were going to “let [me] in on a secret.” Apparently the people who we were hanging out with were all blind. “Don’t believe me?” He said, “listen closely to the hissing sounds.” Sure enough, there was a persistent hissing noise coming from most of the people’s lips around us, presumably to aid in their “vision” via noise. “We must mean the world to them”, they added. “Let’s not… get too ahead of ourselves here” I said.

I was playing as a Ranger in Path of Exile 2 with my cousin. My character’s move speed seemed to be unusually slow but I was just glad that my homebrew Ice Shot Volley build didn’t require a full respec to continue playing. My cousin found a hidden doorway in one of the bushes and inside was a sub area that had a large race track that went up and down an incline. Next to the course was a chest that granted a speed boost based on percentage life (capped at 5%). Apparently I already had the bonus and they didn’t stack. I checked the clock and it was 23:30. I told my cousin that I would have to stop soon, maybe around midnight. “Soon”, he joked.

I was chatting with my manager to pass time until the end of my workday and she told me that she had redrawn the entirety of Cowboy Bebop twice.

We went into the climate controlled shed in our yard where my mother’s old oil paintings were stored. However what she had really brought me here for was to show me some of the work from her students. There were several essays which provided critiques on memes and their function as signifiers for belonging. Despite having access to said essays “locally” (we were holding hard copies in our hands), we discovered that they were actually being hosted on third party (Intel) cloud services.

I was watching a live commentary of a game of Starcraft from Artosis. It was a TvP match and the Orange Terran player had pushed their Siege Tanks deep into the Protoss base. The game went on for a few minutes without the Protoss player pushing them out until they sent a group of Dragoons to deal with them very inefficiently. I asked why they didn’t use Zealots instead to deal with the attack. Apparently there was currently a promotion going on to win 10 bucks every time someone asked a question.
