We had moved into a new place that was kind of like a service apartment. There was a large multi-tiered cabinet that occupied half of my room. One could pull out one half of the storage unit and jump into the middle of the shelves and drawers. I liked how discreet it felt to sort my stuff from the inside.

My brother and I were sharing a room and he took the bed while I was going to sleep on the floor. I unpacked a portable monitor and slid it underneath the raised bed frame. “What the hell is that?” He asked. “Oh it’s just a monitor.” “You brought that with you?” “It can fold up and doesn’t take much space” I explained.

I was at a high school reunion which took place in a garden venue. There were several long tables on the lawn with food already served but I hadn’t yet picked a seat. I received a few group chat notifications from Messenger on my phone but ignored them because I didn’t recognize the name nor profile picture.

I was lining up for a store along with my dad on a busy street. There was a commotion as someone rushed past us, crashing through the crowds as a person with a stun gun in hand chased after them. Someone took out a handgun. We immediately got onto the floor as two shots rang out. The man being chased and a police officer were both stunned. I thought it must’ve been an accident. Moments later a group of masked people carried their limp bodies away.

My brother had received a game invite via mail and I watched him take a lighter to it to burn the ink off. “Why did you do that?” I asked. He told me that he “[wasn’t] ready for it.” I sat behind him as he searched for an artist’s patreon account.

I was watching a Revue Starlight recap movie with a friend but the movie seemed to end up going very differently from how I remembered the show. I thought to myself how it killed all of the momentum when it cut to an original sequence involving a surreal house party where some of the people had freakishly long necks.

I was playing fairly new sandbox game although it was my second time trying it. There were survival-crafting elements resembling Valheim however there was also a class system. This time I decided to actually read all of the descriptions and tooltips as I played and picked an ocean-oriented class.

Lunch break was ending soon but I stayed in the classroom because I wanted to finish listening to someone tell a story. As I walked out, I thought that I would just note down an extra 5 minute break for my timesheet. It was only later that I noticed I had forgotten my bag in the first classroom and had to run back to retrieve it.

I woke up on the morning after Renn Fayre and was told that my housemates “may have” been up to trouble the night before. They were being deliberately vague about it and asked if I had attended yesterday’s homeroom meeting. I was somehow late but did remember being lectured about respecting the environment. I was unsure if that was supposed to be a hint to what happened.

My dad and I had picked up our bags and were ready to pass through customs when he told me he still needed to report on a torture. I fished my documents out of my bag as we went up the stairs. For some reason I had pictures of the pope in my passport which would change every time I opened and closed the booklet. There was also a portrait of a lion labeled “Charles of Oz”.
