I was going to watch Utena in the theaters with my brother and sister-in-law. One of the fight scenes was playing on a big screen above us as we approached the box office. My sister-in-law asked if I’ve ever watched it before. I said that I’ve started but never finished it. She asked if it was because I didn’t like it and I told her it was because my friends didn’t show up to finish watching it together.

We were working on something in the garage when she spotted a large cockroach. I got out a can of bug spray and slowly approached the cockroach before dousing the bug with way too much of it. “Can you step on it now?” she asked from the other side of the garage. I really didn’t want to get any closer.

I wanted to suggest an 80s theme to my team for the upcoming mahjong league. However I struggled to type properly and the words failed to press onto the uneven metal surface.

I was trying to get out of the subway car but two small children were standing in the way. Eventually I walked around them but it was as if they hadn’t noticed me at all. I was walking on the platform when I heard someone calling out “Young man!” I turned my head to realize they weren’t speaking to me. I felt invisible walking through the mostly empty station.

I was at a relative’s place and I snuck up to the upper floors to find a mattress to take a nap. I passed by the children’s play area and I hadn’t gotten a chance to lay down before I heard their voice from downstairs saying that they wanted to play. My brother and uncle turned on the lights as they walked up the stairs. My brother wanted to test out the electronic piano but no sound would come out when he pressed the keys. I tried to troubleshoot for him but couldn’t find any obvious issues to fix.

My aunt and uncle were staying over for the night and our family was hanging out in the field. My cousin brought all of their dogs out from the car. There was a faint smell of weed in the air. My uncle proceeded to explain how they got each one of their five dogs (three of them having already passed from old age). My cousin warned us that pugs were destructive as she let them loose onto the field. They seemed to be content just rolling around in the grass.

I needed to find a way back home so I took out my phone to look at the map. I was somewhere south of Coquitlam and getting home was going to require more than an hour by transit. Someone next to me pulled out a green colored cigarette.

I looked out of the window and saw that all of the backyards were flooded. I jumped down from the second story and found out that the water was surprisingly clear.

I went downstairs to go to the restroom and ended up in the one that was in a state of disrepair. Most of the lights were broken save for a few that were close to the floor. The tiled walls were mostly smashed up and water was leaking from the roof. There was a large hole in the ground next to the urinal I was standing at and I could see rows of desks in a flooded classroom below.

We were meeting up at a coffee place called “The Great Pacifico”. She was reading a stack of books when I came in and greeted her. It had been a long time since we’d last seen each other. She promptly took out an ornate box with a Nintendo DS Lite inside and a pack of wet wipes. She asked me to clean the box and console for her.
